On November 16, 2024, the P7 Arena at Media One will transform into a haven for music enthusiasts, headlined by the legendary UK EDM music icon, Goldie. As one of the biggest Drum N Bass events in the city, Project 174 promises a night filled with heart thumping music and his timeless classics.
Often hailed as the Godfather of Drum N Bass, he has left an indelible mark on the music scene. His journey began as a graffiti artist and breakdancer before transitioning into the world of music. Goldie’s influence extends beyond the realms of Drum N Bass, touching various aspects of British dance music culture. His pioneering work has shaped the genre and inspired artists worldwide.
Timeless: A Groundbreaking Album and Rejuvenated Legacy
In 1995, Goldie released his debut album, ‘Timeless’ which made history by entering the UK Album Charts at number seven. This achievement was a significant milestone for the Drum N Bass genre, showcasing its growing popularity and acceptance. Goldie’s approach to music creation was evident in Timeless, as he preferred to describe it as “inner city ghetto music,” emphasizing its unique and diverse sound.
Last year, Timeless got a refresh with the release of Timeless (Remixes). This album features 17 reworks of the original tracks by various artists, including Break, Grey Code, Searchlight, Scar, Nookie, OneMind, Doc Scott, Baby Boy, and the late Marcus Intalex under his Trevino alias. The remixes breathed new life into the iconic album, showcasing its enduring influence and relevance in the modern music landscape.
Project 174: Goldi, DnB, and Dubai
Project 174, organized by MAC Global – a part of Sony Music Entertainment, has set their sights in delivering one of the biggest Drum N Bass nights of the year in Dubai. With Goldie headlining the event, attendees can expect an iconic performance that blends nostalgia and good vibes. We’re still waiting for the full line-up of special guests and local DJ talent but we’re optimistic that it will be a night filled with high-energy beats and unforgettable moments.
