Surf Mesa’s recent hit ‘Carried Away’ with Madison Beer has been given a dark house twist by the French producer Tchami. The pop record is taken to another level with the club-ready production making it a proper house remix that will be played in stages around the world.
The original was released on Astralwerks Records on Valentine’s Day with a focus on everything romantic, especially, the allure of young love. Surf Mesa’s production had more of a hip-hop beat with the trap hats, and Madison Beer’s vocals carrying us through a lovey-dovey journey. The track became a hit amassing well over 8 million streams on Spotify and 13 million streams overall.
Hailed as one of the pioneers of house music, the acclaimed DJ/producer Tchami has delivered a remarkable remix of the song that shows exactly why he is held in such high regards. The Parisian producer transformed the track with his deep tech house energy exploring the dark and nocturnal possibilities. It’s the kind of track that will have us all moving on the dancefloor during those late-night hours at the club.
The remix starts with a classic house intro that quickly goes into the emotion-invoking vocals of Madison Beer taking the spotlight with drums and percussive elements maintaining the groove. The build-up is simple, and it works for good reason as it takes us into the drop with Tchami’s signature dark basslines. Madison Beer’s vocals echo through the chorus with a fast-moving rhythmic line. The second drop introduces us to new, more electronica synths that embellish the whole song. The groove is sure to make you dance and the sporadic presence of numerous elements such as the airy, almost flute-like vocals, a variety of percussions, fluttering synths, and more provide the listener with a lot of ear candy making it a record to play on repeat.
