The disco ball, the symbol of long nights filled with music and dancing, is finally coming into our emojis library. This one was one of the most requested additions, and now we’ll have it.
This shows us that for every request, there is someone who will listen. This follows a petition signed back in 2019 for adding the disco ball. Mirror Ball is a candidate for inclusion in Unicode 14.0 scheduled for release in 2021 and was added as a draft in Emoji 14.0. We can expect the emoji to be on our phones in early 2022.
We are really excited that the iconic symbol of the dancefloor will be properly represented through a well-deserved emoji.
