Timmy Trumpet Talks About the Story Behind ‘Cardio’, From Where He Gets His Energy when on Stage and More – EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

  1. Hey Timmy, how are you? We’re glad to have you here! Today we’re going to ask you some questions about your newly released song ‘Cardio’.

I’m brilliant! Thanks for having me and thanks for all the support EDM Nomad has given me over the years. Legends.

  1. Can you tell us more about the story behind ‘Cardio’? How and when did you come up with the idea for it?

I guess it all came from my performances. Anyone who’s seen me play knows when I do it’s like a workout. I give it everything I’ve got, and I try to bring as much energy as I have to the stage. When I’m done, I’m head to toe dripping with sweat. It’s probably the most intense cardio I ever do so it just made sense to make an official soundtrack, or theme song for my madness.

  1. Your songs are always very energetic, but ‘Cardio’ beats them all. Is this song specially created to help people with their workouts and high-intensity intervals? As an example for this, Serena Williams used your music in her workout and that worked very well.

Yeah definitely. I love the way people use my music in whatever way they want to. I know when I’m at the gym I want to put that playlist on that helps me get in the moment. The one that pumps me up and helps me do my best. These days everyone is more health conscious and the same people that go to festivals, party, get loose and go crazy are also at the gyms looking after themselves and working hard doing the things that they love to do. That’s where the lyrics work hard play hard come from. It’s all about giving your best to every moment.

  1. Each song has its own creative story. Can you tell us more about the creative process behind ‘Cardio’? How much time did you spend working on it and which part (producing, mixing, mastering etc.) took you longer to finish?

Each track is different, depending on what the driving force behind it is. For Cardio, the vocal needed a simple drop with enough energy to keep in theme with the vocal. The extra trimmings come later. Mixing Cardio actually took the longest once I was happy with the production. They say the final 10% takes 90% of the time, and this couldn’t be truer in this case.

  1. What do you think will be the audience’s reaction to this song when you’ll play it in front of a large crowd?

I can’t wait to play it in front of the big crowd. I played it for the first time in my live stream for DJ mag last week and the reaction has been pretty good so far. But there’s nothing like seeing how people react to a track right in front of you on the dance floor. There’s no other better exchange of energy.

  1. Do you like to improvise on your shows, or do something different from what you have planned before going on stage?

I like to plan my shows before I go on stage, and only because I like to give everybody the best experience possible. I call it coordinated chaos. It’s a balance between knowing what you want to play, but not knowing what you’re gonna do in those moments. I like to bring something different to each performance and I’m always working on changing my set but I always like to be prepared and know that everyone is going to get the best of me.

  1. Your energy is so crazy during your sets. Does the crowd have any merit for that?

All of my energy comes from the crowd! I’m nothing without them. Every ounce of energy that I put back into that dancefloor comes from everything that I’m getting back from everyone in front of me. It’s a circle of trust. If they trust me to give it my all, I can trust that they give me everything back and it always works out.

  1. What sport would you suggest people do while listening to ‘Cardio’?

Anything you like! I love sport, I love exercise, I love doing anything passionately. So no matter what you’re into, enjoy it to the best of your ability. Work hard, play hard, nonstop cardio.

  1. What sport have you always wanted to try, but still didn’t have the chance to try yet?

I’ve always wanted to do windsurfing. I’ve only tried it once, but it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.It was hard to describe. Such a pure and beautiful moment being on the water with the power of the wind, and the power of nature behind you. It was really amazing. Armin is pretty good at windsurfing, and I’ve asked him for lessons the next time I see him, so I’m looking forward to that.

  1. This is all for now! Thank you for answering our questions and we can’t wait to see you play ‘Cardio’ in your sets!

Thanks again for all your love and support! Peace, love and Rock N Roll.
