TRIF3CTO has teamed up with XPNSV TASTE to bring an energetic remix of Ed Sheeran’s viral hit “Bad Habits”. They enlisted the help of Sam Welch who delivered a vocal performance on par with the dynamic production to cover Ed Sheeran’s iconic vocals.
“I heard the original on radio and was wondering why nobody remixed this in a festival style track. I texted XPNSV TASTE saying it would be cool if we added the bigroom bass house flavour to his vocals. After building an idea, we thought to send it to Sam to cover the vocals because Sam is also from the UK, and has a similar yet unique warm acoustic kind of texture to his voice and we knew he’d be perfect for the song.”
TRIF3CTO on how the remix came together
“Bad Habits” begins with stripped vocals over cinematic drums before the beat gets going 40 seconds into the remix. Sam’s sustained singing carries us towards the lively drop. TRIF3CTO’s signature style and sound is sprinkled all over the drop pairing well with XPNSV TASTE’s combo. There’s a plethora of ear candy throughout with special significance towards the end of each section.
One thing is certain, that the year is not yet over for TRIF3CTO who will reveal one more energetic collab with a prominent producer in the industry before the year-end.
