Tomorrowland Gets Approved for Three Weekends in 2022

People of tomorrow will be excited to hear the return of Tomorrowland for three weeks in 2022 after a 2-year hiatus

As the whole world was rattled by the pandemic, Tomorrowland, one of our most beloved dance music festivals was forced to shut down its operations for two consecutive years in 2020 and 2021. The organizers of the iconic festival spared no time in expressing their interest to expand the celebrations to three weeks for their return to Boom. The province of Antwerp has granted festival organizers permission to reunite people of tomorrow in three separate festivals over the course of the summer.

“We are thrilled. We can now go ahead with three weekends which will all be in July. These will have the same preparations as if we were doing just two weekends but will allow us to offer more variety.”

-A spokesperson for Tomorrowland on its return

All three weekends are planned for the month of July. There have been no suggestions to continue the expansion in their future editions with the festival being planned for three weekends only in 2022 as of now to recuperate for the lost income. Reports estimate a financial drought of over €25 million over the canceled editions for the organizers, along with other workers who missed out on their earnings.

Amidst a tumultuous regulatory environment with some places imposing COVID lockdowns, the organizers have agreed to all the conditions laid out by the local residents and authorities. These conditions mostly demand measures for reduction of noise nuisance including an earlier closing time, limited use of fireworks, and eliminating the use of helicopters.
