After the Afters: We Love This Post-Rave Smokehouse And a Must-Try Limited Rooftop Pop-Up

What happens after the rave? After the Afters is where you discover where to refuel, recharge, and relive the best moments.

After a night of pulsing basslines and euphoric energy at Tiësto’s packed show at Coca-Cola Arena, the post-rave hunger hits hard—whether you crave a smokehouse feast or a late-night pop-up experience.

The post-rave experience isn’t just about coming down from the high of the music—it’s about what comes next. It’s about recharging, reconnecting, and reliving the night’s best moments. Some choose to indulge in a great meal or unwind in a spa. Others, a hotel retreat or simply spending quality time with your rave crew.

In rave culture, “afters” refers to what happens after the main event. It could be a private afterparty, an extended DJ set, or a spontaneous gathering that keeps the energy alive. But not every afters is about chasing more music. Sometimes, it’s about taking a step back. A chance to reset your body and mind to make space for recovery—alone or with friends.

That’s where “After the Afters” comes in. It’s not about cramming in one last party or heading straight from the dance floor to the nearest 24-hour spot. It’s about extending the experience on our own terms. Whether that’s diving into a next-level meal, booking a massage, or escaping to a spot where time slows down. It’s about balance, community, and finding ways to relive the night, long after the music fades.

Dubai’s dining scene offers something for every craving, from a rustic smokehouse feast to a sleek pop-up experience after a post-rave adventure. One we’ve already tried, and the other is next on our list.

The Pit House of Barbecue – A Limited Wagyu Masterpiece

Our first stop was The Pit House of Barbecue, a haven for smoke-kissed meats and indulgent platters. For a limited time, they’ve partnered with chef Harry Heal to create a dish that’s as refined as it is satisfying—the Wagyu Steak Sandwich.

This isn’t just a steak sandwich. It’s Australian Wagyu Striploin, grilled to a perfect medium-rare, its marbling melting into every bite. The beef rests on a toasted rosemary ciabatta, crisp on the outside with a soft, fragrant center. A layer of creamy mashed potato adds a surprising, buttery contrast, while chimichurri cuts through the richness with bright, herby acidity. Shaved parmesan finishes the build, adding a nutty depth to each mouthful.

It’s a sandwich designed for indulgence, but the experience doesn’t stop there. The full set ($60 / AED 220) transforms this dish into a feast, served with two smoked BBQ wings, bone marrow buttered corn, a velvety bacon & potato soup, garlic mashed potato, and a side salad for balance. It’s comfort food with precision, blending smoky, buttery, and umami-packed elements into one cohesive spread. The unlimited soft drinks close the deal with a fizz.

This collaboration is a fleeting one—February 21st is the last night to try it before it’s gone. The Pit is open until midnight, and reservations are available via @thepit.ae.

Lolita x San Wan Pop-Up – A Fusion of Cultures with a View

Tonight, after watching Sam Divine take over O Beach Dubai from 7 PM to 9 PM, we’ll be heading straight to Lolita Pool Bar & Lounge in Downtown Dubai. Unlike The Pit, which delivered a rustic, smoke-laden feast, Lolita’s latest pop-up with San Wan Hand Pulled Noodles promises something entirely different—a fusion of Chinese street food with bold Latin and Pan-Asian influences, all set against the backdrop of the Burj Khalifa.

San Wan has made a name for itself with its hand-pulled noodles, a craft that requires years of skill to perfect. This collaboration at Pullman Dubai Downtown brings a fresh perspective, blending authentic techniques with unexpected flavors.

The menu is stacked with dishes that push the boundaries of tradition. Cheese & Chorizo Lumpia fuses crispy Filipino spring rolls with molten mozzarella and a mango sweet chili sauce for a sweet-savory kick. Shrimp & Chorizo Siumai reimagines the classic dim sum with Lo Mai rice and fermented garlic soy, adding depth and umami.

The Beef Miso Pesto Noodles sound like a showstopper, topped with a poached egg and crispy chicken skin, while the Traditional Biang Biang Noodles embrace their fiery origins with soy sauce, black vinegar, garlic, and chili powder.

For something lighter, the Boiled Wontons—offered with a choice of beef or chicken—come drizzled with caramelized shallots and a fragrant Chinese spice blend. And to finish, the Tofu Pudding combines coco pandan, boba pearls, and leche flan, promising a balance of sweetness, silkiness, and chew.

We haven’t tried it yet, but the lineup alone is enough to keep us intrigued. This pop-up is only running February 21st (7PM – 11PM) and February 22nd (2PM – 8PM), making it a one-weekend-only experience. DM them here for more info.

After The Afters: Rave, Recharge, and Refuel

Raving is about more than just the music. It’s about the energy, the people, and the shared moments—both on the dance floor and at the table. For a true post-rave recharge, nothing beats the deep flavors of a smokehouse or the fresh surprises of a seasonal pop-up. After the Afters isn’t about timing—it’s about extending the feeling of the night, long after the last drop hits.

After a long night out, a post-rave meal at a top-tier smokehouse hits differently, but a pop-up keeps things exciting. Whether it’s sinking into a Wagyu-laden sandwich days after Tiësto’s set or slurping hand-pulled noodles after a sunset house set from Sam Divine, the right meal prolongs the high and grounds the experience.

We’ve conquered The Pit, and tonight, we take on Lolita x San Wan. Where should we go next?
