In one week a year will have passed since Avicii left this world, but the last songs he worked on will come out as an album titled Tim, his family members announced.
The lead single of the album was released today, 10th April, 2019 and it is entitled “S.O.S.”. According to The New York Times, the remaining tracks will bounce between “Arabian music, sounds of the Caribbean and more.” Avicii’s collaboration with Chris Martin, “Heaven”, will also be included.
Avicii struggled with anxiety as well as drug and alcohol addiction throughout his career as a DJ. He retired from touring back in 2016, and was found dead in his home in Muskat, Oman on April 20th, 2018.
Universal Music Nordic Region President Per Sundin said in an interview, “Two months after he passed away, we started saying, ‘Okay, how can we do this? How can we honor him?'” regarding the unreleased music Tim had finished prior to his death.
