Be Lion Shares the Story Behind ‘Play With Me’ and More About his Future Plans

Hey Be Lion! Glad to have you here to talk with you about your latest release ‘Play With Me’.

Hi EDMNOMAD, I’m very happy for the invitation and the opportunity to talk about my career and my first release of 2025 through “Sant Lion Records”.

Can you please tell us more details about ‘Play With Me’? How did it come to life and when?

‘Play with Me’ was produced with the idea of incorporating a sexy female vocal that would perfectly complement the track’s atmosphere. During the Amsterdam Dance Event in 2024, I was fortunate to meet DJ, producer, and singer Romita Raiz (IT) at a party, and the connection was immediate. As soon as I sent her the track, she captured the essence of the sound and created an exclusive vocal that brought a new dimension to the music. When I received the vocals, I was impressed with the result and adjusted the track to align with the minimal deep tech vibe, which is the style of the label releasing it.

What sets ‘Play With Me’ apart from your previous work, and why should listeners tune in?

I’m constantly evolving and always looking to bring something fresh. For 2025, my focus is on creating tracks with exclusive vocals that deliver an engaging and captivating club vibe. “Play with Me” reflects that perfectly: sensual, dynamic, and unique.

My sound is a combination of sensuality, attitude, groove, and a touch of Brazilian culture. It’s sexy, provocative, and made for the dance floor.

Be Lion is the personification of my musical dream, which began eight years ago in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. My goal has always been to merge my influences – house music and funk carioca – with my personality. My love for electronic music was born in 2005 when I discovered the power of groove and realized I could express my essence through music. Today, I live in the Netherlands, fulfilling my dream of living solely through my art.

In my teenage years, I was influenced by a friend who introduced me to ‘Adagio Strings’ during a school break. That experience sparked my curiosity and led me to explore more about the genre. Shortly after, I attended my first electronic music event and completely fell in love. That was the moment I realized the emotional impact music had on me and understood I wanted to dedicate my life to it.

I’ve never had just one artist or song as my main influence – it’s evolved over the years and shaped my vision of what inspires me today. Currently, the person who inspires me the most is Michael Bibi, for his productions, lifestyle, journey, strength, perseverance, and faith.

Making music is already my biggest passion and a form of leisure, but when I’m not in the studio, I enjoy spending time with my three cats and watching anime.

Can you tell us more about your dream and future collaboration and what do you hope to achieve in the next 5 years in your professional career?

My biggest dream is to live exclusively from music: producing, performing, traveling, and connecting with different cultures. That’s what fuels my creativity and pushes me to keep evolving. Currently, I have a catalog of 32 unreleased tracks that I’m sending to major labels in search of collaborations and release opportunities. I also host a monthly podcast called ‘No Smile, Just Groove,’ streamed from London, where I highlight artists who have released tracks through my label, ‘Sant Lion Records.’
Over the next five years, I want to further expand my presence in the electronic music scene. We’ve already reached the 8th spot on Beatport’s Minimal Deep Tech category with the track ‘Space,’ released in the second half of 2024, and my goal is to keep climbing and showcasing my label’s work. In 2025, we will launch our first official label party, also called ‘No Smile, Just Groove,’ in Amsterdam.
Additionally, I want to collaborate with other artists who align with my label’s vision, creating a strong community and giving opportunities to emerging DJs and producers. Building a vibrant and collaborative scene is one of my greatest aspirations for the future.
I’ll also share my goals here because I believe in the power of words: performing at festivals across Europe, playing in Ibiza clubs again, planning label showcases, organizing international tours for our label parties, and increasing the reach of our podcast.
