For Daan Romers, better known as Dannic, Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) 2024 wasn’t just another festival. It became a powerful reunion and a showcase of his enduring legacy in electronic dance music. Known for electrifying sets and his signature big-room style, Dannic took to the stage with Hardwell and Dyro for a back-to-back (B2B) performance. Fans quickly dubbed them the “Dutch House Mafia.” With energy pulsing through each track and chemistry forged through friendship, this set became a festival highlight.
The Power of Collaboration
Reflecting on his B2B performance with Hardwell and Dyro, Dannic described it as pure connection during ADE 2024. “The B2B with Hardwell and Dyro at ADE was absolutely unreal!” he shared. “The chemistry we have when we play together is just something else—it’s like we’re all pushing each other to bring out the best, and the energy just keeps building. There’s a reason people started calling us the ‘Dutch House Mafia,’ even if it’s just for fun.”
This set wasn’t just about music; it was about shared history and respect. “We’ve been through so much together in the industry,” he continued. “When we get behind the decks, it feels like a reunion. We don’t plan every detail; it’s more about feeling the crowd and bouncing ideas live. That spontaneity is what makes it so special. It’s like we’re three parts of the same musical machine.” Each DJ brought a unique style, creating a fresh, spontaneous set. “Whether it’s Dyro’s harder sound or Hardwell dropping one of his massive anthems, we complement each other,” Dannic said reminiscing ADE 2024.
Staying True to His Sound
Dannic’s journey with Revealed Recordings, Hardwell’s label, has fit his evolving style perfectly. Known for big-room and progressive house, he feels at home within the high-energy Revealed family. “My style and Revealed have always clicked naturally,” he explained. “I’ve been part of the family for years, and they’ve always encouraged me to stay true to myself.” For Dannic, Revealed provides freedom to evolve his sound within the big-room space. “There’s a signature Revealed sound, but I’ve never felt pressure to change my vibe,” he added.
Dannic has also drawn inspiration from his label mates, especially Hardwell. “One big lesson I’ve learned from my label mates, especially Hardwell, is the importance of taking risks,” he shared. “Watching how they innovate while staying authentic inspired me to trust my gut more.” This outlook opened new creative paths for Dannic, pushing him to experiment.
Finding Balance After the Energy of ADE
After the intensity of ADE, Dannic relies on a routine to unwind and reset. “After the madness of ADE, I balance things out by focusing on my mind and body,” he said. Physical exercise plays a big role in his relaxation process. “I’m big on hitting the gym—getting in a solid workout helps me burn off the adrenaline and get grounded again.” Dannic also values moments of reflection. “I’ll usually hit the sauna for some serious relaxation. It’s a great way to detox,” he explained. Meditation has become essential for clearing his mind after such high-energy events.
The Energy of ADE: An “Explosive” Set and Looking Ahead
For Dannic, “explosive” best describes his ADE set’s vibe. This energy defines him as an artist. “I always aim to bring high-energy, infectious beats that make people want to move,” he said. Each track captures his commitment to creating memorable moments on stage.
Beyond his DJ career, Dannic has built a reputation as a mentor and curator. With his label, Fonk Recordings, he guides emerging artists in the EDM scene, offering production advice and mentorship. Known for memorable performances at festivals like EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland, and Electric Zoo, Dannic’s dedication to the EDM community extends beyond his music.
Looking to the future, Dannic is ready to carry the momentum from ADE into new projects. With a focus on authenticity and explosive performances, he remains committed to pushing big-room and progressive house boundaries. “I’m excited to keep bringing that explosive energy and seeing where the music takes me next,” he concluded.
