Lavern and Gryffin Team Up for New Summer Anthem “Higher Power”

From tour mates to collaborators, Lavern and Gryffin release “Higher Power”, a feel-good house track with AR/CO.

Lavern and Gryffin have unveiled their first joint release, Higher Power, featuring vocals from AR/CO, out July 25 via 10K Projects. The track captures the moment where two musical minds—one rising, one revered—find perfect balance. Higher Power is soaked in warm synths, nostalgic vocals, and the kind of melodic drop that belongs in a sea of hands and lasers.

Rooted in emotional lift and breezy textures, the single showcases Gryffin’s polished production finesse and Lavern’s growing influence in the emotive house movement. AR/CO’s hazy topline carries the track’s first few moments before surrendering to a low-end groove that feels cinematic. With lyrics that radiate hope and energy, the track leans equally on late-night dancefloor pulse and festival anthem glow.

The collaboration didn’t happen in isolation. Earlier this year, Lavern joined Gryffin on the PULSE: PHASE 2 Tour across the United States, a run that included key dates in Atlanta, Boston, and Austin. That touring chemistry has now spilled into the studio, giving birth to a track that cements Lavern’s place on the global radar. Higher Power feels like more than a single—it’s a co-sign, a defining one for the 24-year-old Dutch producer.

In just a few years, Lavern has gone from studying law to racking up over 750 million streams. His signature sound—built on club emotion and melodic storytelling—has won support across the board. He’s now a fixture on festival lineups like Sziget, Veld Toronto, and EDC Vegas, and recently joined Martin Garrix on stage in Ibiza and Mumbai. This summer, he also locked in a Las Vegas residency with the Tao Group, sharing the spotlight with heavyweights like FISHER and Eric Prydz.

For Gryffin, the collaboration joins an impressive roster of genre-defying singles. His recent work spans emotional ballads with Julia Michaels, heavy-hitters with Excision, and euphoric cuts with Kaskade. With Higher Power, he leans fully into melodic house while offering Lavern the space to shine. Together with AR/CO, the trio craft a song that sounds like a memory, already cherished.

Gryffin and Lavern Tapped Emotional House with Higher Power

Lavern’s rise feels anything but accidental. He’s crafted a sound that blends nostalgia, club rhythm, and vulnerability into something globally resonant. Higher Power gives that vision a title—one rooted in energy, emotion, and timing. This track didn’t just happen. It unfolded at the intersection of chance, friendship, and late-night festival energy.

As Gryffin puts it: “‘Higher Power’ is a new take/sound for me that feels so authentically GRYFFIN.” He reflects on the moment it came together, adding, “I can’t decide if it’s AR/CO’s amazing vocals that feel so representative of my history of songs or if the melodic and raw production just unintentionally became what I didn’t know would be a 2025 song of mine.”

That uncertainty is what makes the song feel so alive. The drop isn’t engineered—it’s felt. Gryffin continues, “This record and new friendship with LAVERN surprised me which as an artist is one of the most exciting things that can happen. Feels like the summer banger I needed but never planned for.”

Lavern echoes that spontaneous energy. “I got to know GRYFFIN after I did a couple of shows with him in the US and we connected on a musical level,” he shares. “We jumped into the studio together not long after and it just clicked. Releasing a track with someone like GRYFFIN is special for me and I’m really proud of the end result. I can’t wait for everyone to hear this one!”

AR/CO, the duo responsible for the track’s glowing topline, sum up the spirit perfectly. “We’re hyped to drop ‘Higher Power’ this summer! It’s a track that blends three unique worlds: the legend GRYFFIN, rising force LAVERN and us.” They continue, “It’s a sound that hits different. ‘Higher Power’ is a beacon of hope, a nod to the people that bring us together and the stories that live on forever.”

In a festival season packed with noise, this track cuts through with meaning. It’s what happens when emotive house meets emotional timing.
