Let’s Sail Back to the Island of Dreams- Neversea Festival

It’s not a secret that music unites people. But when the music meets the emotion and the sea, it’s clear that is born a successful story named Neversea.

Known also as the Island of Dreams, Neversea Festival gathered between 7-10 July 2022 in Constanta, Romania more than 260.000 people, being the edition with the largest number of participants by far. The dreamers enjoyed 4 days and 4 nights of festival by over 150 national artists and internationally renowned, all different but unified by dedicated love for the euphoric spirit of dance music. People dove into the depths of the mainstage with famous artists like Alesso, Don Diablo, Timmy Trumpet, Tyga, Black Eyed Peas and many more. Also, they made a splash in the secondary stages like Daydreaming, Oasis, The Ark, and Temple.

Last weekend, Neversea Festival opened its doors after a 2-year break. During these days the harmony of the souls was expressed through soundwaves. Here are some of the best moments from the peculiar stages:

On the first day of the festival, July 7, Alesso celebrated his birthday with fans worldwide. The artist offered a beautiful gift: a live set in which he included his most famous tracks such as “Calling (Lose My Mind),” “Under Control,” “If I Lose My Self,” “When I’m Gone” (feat. Katy Perry) and the latest success “Words” (feat. Zara Larson).

Dutch DJ and producer Don Diablo was happy to be back on stage at Neversea and mixed classic songs and productions from his latest album, “Forever”. Don Diablo also played a premiere – the unreleased track “Baby”, where the crowd went crazy. The Dutch artist wore the flag of Romania on his back and ended his show by saying, “Neversea, I missed you so much!”.

The legendary band Black Eyed Peas had a wonderful concert on the mainstage on the third day of Neversea Festival, July 9. Will.i.am confessed his gratitude to Romania for opening its arms to Ukraine. Between classic hits and new songs, Black Eyed Peas invited the audience to an improvisation session, and tens of thousands of people sang in one voice, “I love you Romania”.

Nevertheless, the famous rapper TYGA impressed the fans when he got down from the mainstage to salute them and shake hands. Before closing the show, the American artist invited some ladies from the crowd to join him on the stage and dance together. 50.000 of fans sang together the famous refrain of Ayy Macarena and other songs.

Tujamo closed the Neversea Festival with a special live show. His unique sound, the sea and the sunrise created a special connection between him and the fans who did not want to leave the happy grounds of Neversea.

Also, artists like Steve Aoki, duo Dimitri Vegas& Like Mike, Azteck, NERVO, made the public go crazy, uniting the participants in sonorous bliss.

Depths of the Black Sea have been expanded with memories to cherish forever. The other stages prepared special acts and drove the participants on musical journeys until late in the morning.

On the last day of Neversea Festival, Mahony returned to the Island of Dreams and opened the Temple stage. Then Jamie Jones hypnotized the crowd with his unique sounds and set, and Richy Ahmed closed the stage with a special show. The Oasis stage hosted performances by reputable artists like Korolova, Kasia, Alex Kennon, Le Twins etc.

The Daydreaming stage hosted local artists and Pandhora, HVOB Live (Clubset), Lee Burridge, Sebastien Leger, and Matthew Dekay. The Dutch artist closed the Daydreaming stage accompanied by a memorable sunrise.

Romanian artists, Krewella and Dirtyphonics joined the Ark stage, the home of rap, trap, hip-hop, dubstep, liquid, drum&bass, and breakbeat.

In addition to good music, fans also had fun with various interactive activities from the festival, water sports, and a unique beauty hub, Designers’ Nest, where Romanian designers, make-up artists, and hairstyles were present. Over 50 vendors of food brought their juicy tastes. They served various food such as pizza, pasta, burgers, noodles, sushi, Mexican or Colombian food, vegan food, pancakes, waffles, and many more.

History was not only created by the diversity of musical genres, the sea, unique sunrises, and sunsets, but also by an aviation show with MIG21 and F16. The fireworks, the decor, and the acrobats reminisce about a successful chapter that was written in front of our eyes.

Therefore, this is not goodbye. On the horizon, this is certainly – See you later, Neversea 2023!
