Longo Talks about ‘No Name’ and Future Plans

  1. Hey LONGO! Glad to have you here to talk with you about your latest release ‘No Name’.

Hey! Thanks so much for having me, I’m super excited to be here and to share more about my latest track.

  1. Can you please tell us more details about ‘No Name’? How did it come to life and when? How you meet Marco Lollis & Martina Corona?

‘No Name’ was born around mid-2021, during one of my very first sessions in the studio with Marco Lollis. The idea started with a desire to blend the melodic side of early progressive house — like the melodies Avicii used to write — with the groove-heavy, percussive approach of someone like Fred Again. Emotionally, the track came from a very real place: I realized during the writing process that I had taken certain things in life for granted — like love, or simply having someone by your side while you’re chasing your dreams. At a certain point, I noticed that even when I didn’t have a “she,” she still cared about me. And when I used to make music alone in my bedroom, she was always there, supporting me. Now that I’m finally starting to turn this dream into something more, that “she” isn’t here anymore — or maybe now, “she” has become the music itself.

I met Marco thanks to a friend who introduced us — he thought we should work together. We instantly clicked and became close friends. I later introduced him to Martina, whom I had known for many years. We actually met during a tough time in my life when I was in the hospital battling an illness. She never left my side, and we started writing music together. Martina became one of my best friends. Over time, we formed this really special trio. Making songs with the two of them is honestly one of the most beautiful things in my life.

  1. What sets ‘No Name’ apart from your previous work, and why should listeners tune in?

Compared to my earlier work, ‘No Name’ definitely has a higher level of sound quality. It also represents a step forward creatively — keeping the progressive house roots I grew up with, but blending them with modern drums and textures. The melodies, though, are what really set it apart. I put my heart into them, and I think they’re what make the track unique

  1. Who is LONGO and why music? At what age did you get into music and how?

My real name is Gianmarco, and I’m from Italy. I started studying piano when I was just two years old, so music has been in my life for as long as I can remember. Deep down, I always knew I wanted to do something creative. For a long time, I also played volleyball at a high level — all the way until the end of high school. But eventually, I had to make a choice. I realized I spent every free moment thinking about music, so I followed that passion and haven’t looked back since.

  1. Do you remember the name of the first song that made you love electronic music?

Yes — it was ‘Sunshine’ by David Guetta and Avicii, even though I didn’t realize back then that it was a collab. That song changed everything for me. Later, when I discovered who Avicii really was, I completely fell in love with his music.

  1. Who or what has been your biggest inspiration throughout your music journey?

Definitely artists like Avicii, Fred Again, Calvin Harris, Alesso, Swedish House Mafia, and BUNT. Each of them has had a huge influence on me — melodically, emotionally, and in terms of sound design.

  1. What’s the one activity you love doing in your free time when not making music?

Honestly, I spend nearly all of my time making music — not because I have to, but because I truly love it. That’s my “free time.” That said, I still keep up with volleyball — just not with the same level of commitment as before. It’s still a part of who I am

  1. Can you tell us more about your dream and future collaboration and what do you hope to achieve in the next 5 years in your professional career?

My dream collab would be with Fred Again or Alesso — that would be insane. As for the next five years, I want to release as much music as possible and reach more and more people, both online and through live shows. I want to play in front of crowds — that’s one of the most beautiful feelings in the world. Actually, I’m super happy to announce my first date in France this April! Long term, my goal has always been to create something unique and different musically. I believe I’ve already found that sound — something completely new — but I know I have to wait for the right moment to share it. For now, I’m making music I love, and building towards that future

  1. This is all for now. Thank you for your time answering our questions. Where can our community find out more about your music and your future releases?

One of the things I absolutely love doing on social media is connecting with people. It’s something I never want to stop doing — replying to everyone, no matter who they are, because I genuinely enjoy getting to know new people.

The truth is, in real life I’m not very outgoing. I’ve always struggled to make new friends. When I was little, I used to spend most of my time in my room making music just for fun, while other kids were out playing at the park.

I’m not even that great at texting to be honest, so most of the time I just send voice notes to people who write to me — just to thank them for their support and let them know that everything I do, especially my music, is 100% me. There’s no team behind the scenes —
it’s just me, pouring my heart into it all.

Thank you so much for having me! You can find me on Instagram, Spotify, SoundCloud — just look for LONGO. I’m super active on socials, so feel free to reach out, stay updated on new releases, and join me on this journey!
