LUNAX Speaks About Her Beautiful ‘Rooftop’ Song and Future Plans

  1. Hey LUNAX, how are you? Super excited to have you here to discover more about your latest release ‘Rooftop’.

Hey, I’m fine and thanks for having me! As a big fan of EDMNOMAD, I’m excited to be here and to talk about my new track. I’m really happy that ‘Rooftop’ is released now.

  1. ‘Rooftop’ is a high-energy song, can you tell us more about it? It has a great and interesting name, can you tell us the story behind the name of the song, as well?

It is a track about feeling lonely and remembering that you are not alone with this feeling. We all experience challenging times. I like to look at the stars when I feel this way. Then I imagine that the sky full of stars symbolizes all the hearts of millions of people. That gives me strength in these moments. You know, I try to push people with my tracks, so I always want to put that energy into my music.

  1. What inspired you to produce ‘Rooftop’? Which part of the song was the hardest to work on production-wise and which was your favorite part of the song?

Finding a way to work with the vocals was the most difficult part for me. Finding a way to work with the vocals was the difficult part for me, because I had so many ideas how to make them fit with the production. But my favorite part was the synth drop, this is where I always let all my energy out. Meanwhile, this has become a signature of mine.

  1. Who came up with these beautiful lyrics?

It was written and sung by the wonderful Christin Pohl, also known as Mary Jensen. She was also the one who wrote one of my most successful tracks ‘Safe & Sound’ together with HUTS.

  1. How would you describe your own sound?

To sum it up in three words: energetic, powerful & happy.

  1. At what age did you start producing music and how did you get into the music industry? How hard is it to be a female in this industry which is dominated by men?

Music was always a part of my life. I was 14 when I started to get really interested in dance music and learned how to produce. Then in 2020 I released my first track on Beat Dealer Records and I’m happy to be in the management there now. From that point on, I met a lot of new people, grew incredibly in one year and found the current LUNAX sound. Sometimes I can’ t believe how fast the project developed. But you always have to deal with prejudice, many of them are gender-based, where people say that you are not able to do anything because you are a woman. But in the meantime I can ignore that because I have so many great fans who support me every day and also at the festivals and club shows I get to know so many nice people.

  1. Have you ever had in mind to give up music? If yes, why and how do you move forward without giving up? What’s the piece of advice you can give to someone who aspires for success in music?

I suppose we all get to this point and have these doubts about whether what we’re doing is right. No matter if it’s in the music business, that you just can’t finish a track or you get a rejection from a label. It always encourages me when I look at pictures and videos of great DJs and producers and think ‘You want to get there too and now more than ever!’ In the end, that motivates me to keep going every day.

  1. From where do you get the inspiration while you’re producing music? And what’s your process to be productive in the studio?

I can find inspiration in any place I go. In fact, the ideas for melodies come to me quite typically in the shower, and then I sing them aloud to myself. Once I have such an idea, nothing can stop me and I sit for hours at the computer to try out the various possibilities. In many cases I can hardly sleep then, because I’m always coming up with new thoughts and ideas on how to work with a track.

  1. What’s one hobby you can’t live without?

Quite clearly: sport. In the past, I was already German champion in kickboxing. Now it is mainly my balance next to the music, a way to clear my head.

  1. What are your plans for the future? What is your dream festival that you want to be on stage?

I definetly want to tour a lot more and get to know new countries and cities. I’m very excited about the people I will meet and how they will react to my music. One of my big dreams, is the Ultra Miami Festival – the vibe there cannot be compared to anything. I’m also looking forward to future collaborations with other artists, because you always learn and discover something new for yourself.
