His characteristic sound and vibes, that fluctuate around the House and Tech House genres, have caught the attention of listeners all over the world, with more than 35 radio stations broadcasting his show each week, Marvinmarvelous is ready to keep reaching new heights with his hard-hitting tracks and the energetic mixes we shares with his audience weekly.
We asked Marvinmarvelous about his show, his hopes for the near future and what keeps him inspired for curating the dynamic mixes ‘The Marvin Show’ offers to its listeners. This is what he had to say.
- Hello Marvin! How are you doing?
Hey, I’m doing great these days. Things are really starting to get going.
- The Marvin Show is getting a lot of attention, how did the initial idea for the show start?
My team came up with the idea as a way to continue to reach people during the pandemic. And there’s so much new music out there, I wanted to find a way to get it out to the masses.
- How do you think the show has evolved from the beginning?
It’s a Tech House show since the beginning, but now I add some music that is on the edge of Tech House. Sometimes it’s a Latin feel, and other times it’s music with more vocals in it. Either way, it has a nice flow to it.
- Have you discovered something new while mixing for the show?
Yeah, there’s a lot of really hot producers out there making new music every day.
- In your experience, how has the audience reacted to The Marvin Show?
The reaction has been great. Some of my fans record the show every week and listen to it while they are in their cars. Others use the show for house parties.
- How does mixing for your show differ from performing live?
When I mix live, I’m constantly reading what’s going on in the room. Figuring out where crowd wants the direction to go to. When I mix for the show, I’m presenting more new music that I like, as opposed to trying to keep people dancing.
- Who would you like to feature on your show in the future?
If I could get Sonny Fodera, Black V Neck, or even DJ Dan to do a Tech House set, that would be great.
- What keeps you inspired to create new mixes for the show?
All of the new music that just keeps coming out, that’s what keeps me going. Also the fans also want to hear something new and exciting all the time too.
- Are there any new milestones you’d like to achieve with the show?
Yes, right now we’re at about 35 stations around the world, I would like that to jump to a hundred this year.
- How would you describe your show to people who haven’t listened to it yet?
It’s a Tech House dance party of a show.
- What would you like to say to the followers of your show?
Just keep listening and don’t forget to tell your friends.
