More Than 200,000 Delighted Electronic Music Fans Celebrated ‘Vive La France’ at the Airbeat One Festival this Year

‘Au Revoir’ and ‘Bon Voyage’ were the AIRBEAT ONE 2024 statement at 6 am on Sunday, as Germany’s largest electronic music extravaganza reached its conclusion. More than 200,000 guests across three days and nights celebrated the 21st edition of the uber-festival in Neustadt-Glewe. Visitors travelled from all over Germany and 60 countries worldwide, with the huge airfield temporarily becoming the third-largest city in Mecklenberg-Western Pomerania for the duration of the festival.

Accompanying this year’s ‘Vive la France’ theme, AIRBEAT ONE fans were treated to a breathtaking, groundbreaking festival and stage production. The 160-meter-wide, 45-meter tall main stage, paid homage to the Arc de Triomphe, Versailles, as well as The Louvre, and towered high above the whole festival.

Each stage at the three-day festival was visually inspired by AIRBEAT ONE’s thematic travel destination. The impressive Terminal stage transformed into Paris’ famous Moulin Rouge, while the unforgettable Harder Stage took influence from the country’s national animal, and was emblazoned with two enormous rooster heads.

A total of 228 DJs and artists representative of almost every genre of electronic music, played for more than 220 hours, over three huge days, across six incredible stages during this year’s AIRBEAT ONE. Many of the biggest names in the DJ industry were on the 2024 lineup, including Armin Van Buuren. ALOK, Afrojack, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, Oliver Heldens, R3HAB, Tiesto, Timmy Trumpet, W&W and Will Sparks.

“One of my favourite festivals in the world,” said two-time DJ MAG Top 100 winner, Dimitrios ‘Dimitri’ Anastasios from superstar duo Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike. Armin van Buuren was once again mesmerised by the impressive main stage, saying: This incredible stage, the whole production here, it’s really crazy. The stage is hard to compare, its size alone is gigantic. It’s one of the biggest in Europe.”

The Arena Stage delivered internationally renowned headliners alongside eagerly anticipated future superstars of the techno scene such as 999999999, Basswell, Danny Avila, i hate models, Indira Paganotto, HI-LO and Sara Landry. One of the biggest highlights of the entire weekend was homegrown hero Lilly Palmer, the talented DJ considered Germany’s number-one techno titan.

The atmosphere within the Terminal tent was kinetic, frenetic and electric during high-intensity performances from Schwerin local hero KXXMA and Stuttgart’s DJ Mag Top 100 starring icon Le Shuuk. In addition, multiple German DJ stars including VIZE, Gestort aber GeiL, YouNotUs, Twocolours, Die Gebruder Brett and HBZ appeared on a lineup that also included international artists such as Blasterjaxx, Fedde Le Grand, Marianna BO, MATTN, Öwnboss, and Sam Feldt.

A hugely popular new edition to this year’s festival was the Classic Area located near the VIP Camping Village grounds, where timeless icons such as Quicksilver, Dune, Da Hool, Special D and Talla 2XLC performed. A special moment shared amongst the AIRBEAT ONE crowd was a live appearance by the iconic DJ Sammy, who alongside star vocalist Loona performed together for the first time in more than ten years.

Fans that favor the harder styles of dance music were not left disappointed and were treated to an all-star lineup including Angerfist, Brennan Heart, Da Tweekaz, Jebroer, Miss K8 b2b Anime, Ran-D, Sickmode, Sub Zero Project b2b Phuture Noize, Warface and Zatox, who were just a few of the big hardstyle hitters. Meanwhile, the second stage hosted by the Indian Spirit Festival, once again featured the crème de la crème of Goa and PsyTrance.

After an unforgettable fireworks show on Saturday at 1:30 am, which helped illuminate the entire starry night sky over Mecklenberg-Western Pomerania with the famous French colours of blue, white and red, Dutch dance icon Afrojack pushed the festival into the stratosphere with his closing set, concluding the three-day event with unforgettable music, melody and a whole lot of bass. Neustadt-Glewe and its 7,000 invited residents once again proved extremely hospitable, welcoming electronic music fans from across the globe with smiles, warmth and open arms.

Happiness, contentment and an unforgettable shared musical experience was the festival feeling, with even the police joining in the good vibes, together dancing with visitors in the ‘Ballerndorf’ camping grounds. It was a cheerful and respectful interaction between guests, emergency services and all authorities connected to AIRBEAT ONE 2024.

The extended first early arrivals for campers on Tuesday and the repositioning of North Camping and P4 car park areas proved hugely successful, queue numbers were hugely decreased, and campers faced minimum delays entering the festival. Thanks to the new location distances were enormously reduced, allowing festival goers to have themselves an even better musical experience.

All that remains left to say is mark your calendars because the 22nd edition of AIRBEAT ONE is scheduled to take place between July 9th and July 13th 2025. Advance EarlyBird tickets will go on sale on August 1st 2024, alongside the eagerly-awaited grand announcement of which country will be named as the inspiration for next year’s unmissable festival.
