Go back to the first time you watched a music festival video; lasers in full sync, crowds united by music, the ground shakes as if you were there, a moment where a spark ignites the longing to experience the magic… for Project Horizon this is how it all began.
Project Horizon was born from a shared dream that many held while watching Tomorrowland videos.
For years, they longed for that magical festival experience in the Philippines. The founders recall watching local festivals like Chroma and Big Fish as teenagers, but being too young, they’re unable to attend.
Last year, their vision reignited when the team saw a poster for Ultra Taiwan. Inspired by the energy at Ultra, they knew they had to bring that same vibe back to Manila.
“Every country in Southeast Asia has a big EDM festival—why not the Philippines?” the team wondered.
With just four weeks of preparation, Project Horizon debuted in May 2024, selling out a 3,000-capacity venue in BGC. The overwhelming support inspired them to go bigger for Horizon Halloween.
Uplifting Manila’s EDM Scene
Horizon Halloween isn’t just a festival—it’s the realization of a dream to elevate Manila’s electronic music scene.
Inspired by legendary venues like Ushuaïa Ibiza, the music festival happening on October 26 aims to create its own legacy.
The organizers believe everyone deserves the joy and freedom of a top-tier EDM experience. With a lineup of international DJs and an inclusive environment, they aim to make the night unforgettable.
Headlining the event is British superstar Jonas Blue, known for hits like “Perfect Strangers” and “Mama”. With 7.5 billion global streams, Jonas brings his chart-topping sound to Manila.
Monstercat’s Influence and Local Artist Spotlight
Adding to the event’s prestige, Monstercat, a globally renowned independent label, partners with Project Horizon.
Known for its diverse roster and community-building events, Monstercat brings a high-caliber experience to Manila. This collaboration ensures Horizon Halloween will connect international artists with the local EDM community.
Joining the lineup are Monstercat artists Ookay, Fairlane, and Weird Genius, offering diverse EDM styles for every taste.
Local talents Bandit, Siangyoo, Carla Cray, and Funk Avy round out the lineup, ensuring homegrown beats resonate alongside international hits.
The independent EDM festival is set to be a defining moment for the country’s electronic music scene.
From Dreamers to Creators: Turning a Love for EDM into Reality
What began as a love for EDM—watching festivals and dreaming of experiencing that magic—has become something real for Project Horizon.
The founders didn’t just admire the music; they imagined bringing that energy to their home city. Their passion for the beats, lights, and unity that EDM brings inspired them to create a space for local fans.
What was once a distant idea is now a festival that aims to mirror the essence of world-class events.
This isn’t just about hosting an event; it’s about turning passion into reality—for the founders and EDM lovers alike.
From watching Tomorrowland online to building their own stage, the Project Horizon team has started something remarkable.
Their journey shows how passion and dedication can make the impossible happen. It stands as proof that music can inspire and, with hard work, make dreams come to life.
