S2O Taiwan wrapped up with a bang last week July 13 – July 14 at Dajia Riverside Park in Taipei, drawing over 30,000 music lovers from around the globe.
The two-day festival featured an impressive lineup of international DJs and artists, culminating with Norwegian DJ Alan Walker’s 75-minute closing set. Walker’s performance included crowd favorites like “Faded,” “All Falls Down,” and “Darkside,” enhanced by a 360-degree water spraying system and high-pressure water guns, ensuring everyone was soaked and having a blast. As fireworks lit up the night, Walker thanked the Taipei crowd in Chinese, expressing his joy at being back in Taiwan after many years.
The festival’s main stage hosted a stellar array of international talent. Yellow Claw brought their signature hard-hitting set, while Vini Vici infused the atmosphere with their psytrance vibes. Kaaze and LIU kept the energy high with their dynamic sets, and Mike Williams delivered his infectious future house tunes. Nicky Romero, Sub Zero Project, Brooks, and Ray Volpe also took the stage, each bringing their unique sounds and electrifying the crowd.
The MONEYBUNNY stage featured a mix of K-pop and rising EDM stars. Seventeen-year-old Gyubin performed her first overseas show, delivering her hit “Really Like You” and interacting warmly with fans. K-pop girl group TripleS, along with Wooah, DXMON, and Woo, headlined the first day at the MONEYBUNNY stage.
S2O Taiwan is known for its surprises, and this year didn’t disappoint. Korean electronic monk NewJeansNim kicked off the first day’s main stage by mixing electronic beats with Buddhist chants. He kept the energy high, dancing on the DJ booth and engaging the crowd with phrases like “I love Taiwan, I love you!” His set included the classic song “Blessing,” with the big screen displaying messages like “Bless Taiwan,” much to the crowd’s delight. He ended his set with a new, unreleased track dedicated to Taiwan, thanking the audience profusely.
In addition to the music, S2O Taiwan offered unique onsite activities that enhanced the festival experience. Attendees could enjoy live Muay Thai boxing matches, adding a thrilling and energetic twist to the event. The Red Bull Pit Stop Challenge allowed fans to test their skills and speed, simulating the excitement of a real pit stop. A variety of interactive activations kept the crowd engaged throughout the festival.
Food lovers were also in for a treat, with a large selection of food vendors offering diverse culinary options. From local Taiwanese delicacies to international cuisines, there was something to satisfy every palate.
S2O Taiwan is a highlight of the summer festival season, combining world-class music with an unforgettable water-soaked experience. This year’s event once again proved why it is a must-attend for EDM fans around the world.
