After working with Virtual Riot and getting another credit on Justin Bieber’s latest album, Skrillex is back to his electronic roots. He joins forces with Starrah and Four Tet for his new house-influenced single “Butterflies”, out now via OWSLA/Atlantic Records. The vocal-driven house tune marks his first release since 2019.
Skrillex is considered to be one of the most versatile artists with a string of remarkable collaborations in different genres and “Butterflies” is no different. The single is reminiscent of his earlier hits with a catchy vocal chop melody that pairs very well with Starrah’s pop style vocals. Four Tet showcases his house production skills with a groovy bassline, and an overall blend of the three artists’ abilities to perfection.
In a post shared to Instagram just a day after the release of his new single, Skrillex teased a preview of another upcoming release with Swae Lee and Siiickbrain. He had wiped out his Instagram account a few days ago sparking the rumours of a new album among the dance music community. Fans had been waiting for new music from him for some time now, and they won’t be disappointed to check out his new piece of work.
