After starting the year off strong with their first single ‘Hey (It’s Me)‘, Small ToK continue their fine run in the form of a new house collab “Urban Nights”, out now on Musata Music. Partnering with Musata, the head honcho of the label, for his renowned production abilities, these two acts bring together a fresh pairing of house music with a hint of signature Small ToK dance-pop touch.
“We started working on “Urban Nights” two years ago from a tiny studio apartment we were living in back then, and right from the start we knew we had something very special with the lyrics and melody. It seemed as if this tune captured our status, hopes and dreams in the most perfect way, but we couldn’t bring ourselves to complete it. We knew we needed that “extra something”, and Musata was just that. He came right on time with his fresh take and together the result is beyond our hopes and dreams. We’re in love with this one and hope our listeners will feel the same.”

“Urban Nights” opens with moody chords under the vocal before bringing in the classic house piano with a twist. The choice of chord progression makes the song stand out as it invokes emotions in the listener with a grand euphoric feel. It’s easy to get hooked on a part of the song depending on what catches your fancy, such as the infectious vocal repeating ‘I don’t wanna wake up’ or the powerful breakdown, but what makes the song special is the songwriting and progression of their main idea in a way that stays true to the two acts.
