Just last weekend, Swedish House Mafia treated us all with ‘It Gets Better’, their first release in over 9 years. The EDM mega-trio has now dropped their second single ‘Lifetime’ with Ty Dolla $ign and 070 Shake a few days after their first release from their upcoming debut album “Paradise Again”. It was reported that a huge part of the song was leaked on Reddit before the full version was also leaked online.
‘Lifetime’ showcases the sound Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso have been working on recently as it’s not one of the well-known IDs that had been played during their reunion show in 2019, like ‘It Gets Better’ or the yet to be released ‘Underneath It All’. The new single has been receiving generally positive reviews even from those who were not fully on board with the diversity of new sounds brought in by the supergroup on their last release.
Talking to Zane Lowe about the collaboration on Apple Music 1, Steve Angello said, “[070 Shake] is right at the center of youth and we just love her. The energy, the vibe she has, the artistic integrity, everything about her is so unique, you know?”. They will also be performing the new release on Jimmy Fallon’s show tonight.
