Avicii awarded two Swedish Grammis posthumously

Avicii was nominated for 4 awards, including Producer of the Year and he won 2 Grammis

Avicii left this world way too soon. He still had a lot of things to accomplish and a lot of new music to create and delight us with. Last year, Grammis, the Swedish equivalent of the Grammys, dedicated a tribute video for Avicii that left everyone speechless.

For this year’s edition, Avicii was nominated for 4 awards, including Producer of the Year and he won 2 Grammis: ‘SOS (feat. Aloe Blacc)’ won Song of the Year, and TIM won Electro/Dance Album of the Year. Albin Nedler and Klas Bergling, Avicii’s colleague and friend and his father, received the award in Avicii’s place.

“IF TIM HAD BEEN HERE TONIGHT HE WOULD HAVE BEEN OVERJOYED, PROUD AND GRATEFUL FOR THIS AWARD. THIS PRICE IS ENTIRELY FOR HIM. WE MISS YOU VERY, VERY MUCH.”

Albin Nedler

The album titled TIM was co-produced by Carl Falk and many others. Carl has known and worked alongside Avicii since 2010. For this occasion, he shared a video on Instagram celebrating the moment.
