Starting this Sunday, Cat Dealers will become a resident on Insomniac TV with weekly sets created exclusively for each show, which will take place every Sunday. The first set of the show, named Cat House Sessions, will be broadcasted next Sunday, February 14, at 5 pm PT / 2 am CET on Insomniac’s Twitch channel (https://www.twitch.tv/insomniac/).
The sets’ 3D scenarios were digitally created using the same software that Tomorrowland used to make Tomorrowland Around The World, the digital edition of the Belgian festival that happened last year, in which Cat Dealers was part of the lineup. There will be special effects and technologies designed especially for the sets, such as lasers and fireworks.
The duo comments on the residency and the technology: “Insomniac is one of the biggest producers of electronic music events in the United States, which is a target market for us. However, we know that it’s not easy, so we have worked hard for this and we are beginning to see the results, with this residency being one of them. This shows that our work is being done well. For the sets’ idea, since we saw Tomorrowland Around The World, we started to research more about the technology they used. Our VJ, Deco, has a background in 2D and 3D animation, so together with him and our light designer, John, we managed to produce this show. This project for us is the beginning of a new stage in the creation of our shows and how we are going to perform live ”.
Insomniac TV is a digital platform created by the owners of Electric Daisy Carnival, EDC, one of the main electronic music festivals on the planet and the largest in North America. Cat Dealers recently played in their Orlando online edition, EDC Orlando Virtual Rave-A-Thon. Insomniac TV broadcasts exclusive musical performances by several names in electronic music, being one of the main channels in the scene. Its Twitch, alone, has more than 435k followers around the world.
