What Fabric is to London’s underground, Global Underground is to progressive house. The Newcastle-upon-Tyne label launched in 1996 is turning 30 this year. To celebrate, they have announced THIRTY, an anniversary compilation arriving September 25th, 2026.
Global Underground’s whole MO is to take some of the best DJs to the world’s most exotic clubbing locations to capture the night in music. They have over 49 City Mix compilations. It features DJs like Carl Cox, Solomun, Sasha, Joris Voorn, Deep Dish, Guy J and Danny Tenaglia. All have played their part in GU’s long and storied history, with albums inspired by their sets at incredible locations everywhere from Burning Man to Ibiza.
With THIRTY, Global Underground brings thirty brand new tracks by thirty different artists. The album showcases some of dance music’s most dynamic names including Guy J, Nick Warren and Nicky Elisabeth. Also, Yulia Niko, Spencer Brown and a very special collaboration between vocalist Nadia Ali and Berlin-based duo Frankey and Sandrino.
The Compilation
The compilation runs across two mixes. CD1 opens with Dusty Kid’s “Gran Turismo” before moving through Gorge, Rodriguez Jr., Ocean Flor, Guy J’s “Rise,” Helsloot, Nicky Elisabeth, Dee Montero and Jim Rider featuring Elu, Animal Trainer, Trilucid and Phil Martyn, Noir and Hayze, Sentre, Lexer, Fahlberg and Simon Vuarambon, before closing on one of the record’s most significant moments — Nadia Ali and Frankey and Sandrino’s “Night Sky,” is a collaboration that brings one of dance music’s most distinctive voices together with one of the underground’s most respected production duos.
CD2 opens with Yulia Niko and Eli Fola’s “Bebey” and moves through Fur Coat and Zoo Brazil, Danny Howells, Nick Warren and Nicolas Rada, Quivver and Dave Seaman, Christian Smith and Jamie Stevens, HotLap, Spencer Brown, Hunter/Game, 16BL, D-Nox and André Moret, Mariano Mellino alongside Lopezhouse and FOLGAR, Jon Gurd and Reset Robot, closing with Gai Barone’s “Taking Credits.”
How to Get It?
THIRTY arrives in four formats. The 2xCD set includes all 30 tracks across two DJ mixes. The 3×12″ vinyl edition — coloured, heavyweight, in a gatefold sleeve — collects a curated selection of standout tracks. The Collector’s Edition is the one for the dedicated. All 30 tracks unmixed across 5×12″ vinyl and 2xCD, with special bonus content included. Digital download and streaming editions are also available for those who want it immediately.
Founder Andy Horsfield summed up the ambition behind the project. He said, “Three decades ago, when I came up with the crazy idea of representing the true nature of global underground DJ culture by launching the GU label, I could never have imagined that we would have been fortunate enough to experience such a long and storied history. With the release of our landmark anniversary THIRTY album I was determined to look forward not back — so we set about commissioning 30 brand new exclusive pieces of music from 30 of our favourite contemporary electronic artists. I’m so proud of every single track featured on this milestone album for GU and offer huge thanks to all the artists that are involved, and of course to our loyal fanbase and GU community worldwide. See you on the dance floor.”
THIRTY is out September 25th, 2026 via Global Underground. Pre-order here.
