From ‘Cartieradio’ to ‘What Da House Radio’: Dennis Cartier Marks a New Chapter

  1. Hey Dennis Cartier! Great to have you with us. Today we’re going to talk about your brand-new What Da House Radio.

Thank you! I’m really excited to finally share this new chapter. After 500 episodes of Cartieradio, it felt like the perfect time to refresh everything. What Da House Radio is more than just a new name, it’s part of a vision that connects my music, my label, my events, and the community I’ve been building over the years.

  1. Episode 500 marks the end of Cartieradio after so many years. Looking back, what are your favorite memories from the journey?

There are so many memories that it’s hard to pick just one. Seeing the show grow from a small passion project into something with listeners from all over the world has been incredible. Receiving support from artists, labels, and fans every single week motivated me to keep going. Reaching episode 500 is something I’m genuinely proud of, and it’s a milestone.

  1. What inspired you to bring Cartieradio to a close and launch What Da House Radio instead?

I felt I had achieved everything I wanted with that concept. What Da House has grown into a complete brand, so it made sense to bring the radio show under the same identity. Everything now works together and tells one clear story.

  1. How will What Da House Radio differ from Cartieradio in terms of sound, concept, and vision?

The heart of the show stays the same: quality house music and discovering great new tracks. But the overall concept is more focused. Instead of releasing every week, the show becomes monthly, giving me more time to create stronger mixes and carefully select the music. You’ll hear everything from soulful and funky house to Latin House, Afro House, Indie Dance and melodic grooves, always with the signature What Da House vibe.

  1. Who is Dennis Cartier?

I’m someone who’s been passionate about music for as long as I can remember. I’ve been DJing for more than two decades, producing music, running my own label, organizing events, and constantly looking for new ways to connect people through house music. I like doing things my own way, staying independent, and building everything step by step. For me, it’s always been about passion first.

  1. How has your musical style evolved since you started Cartieradio, and how is that reflected in the new show?

When Cartieradio started, I mainly played energetic house with a strong club influence. Over the years, my taste became much broader. Today I appreciate groove, emotion and musicality even more than before. That’s exactly what you’ll hear in What Da House Radio. It’s still energetic, but with more depth and variety, reflecting where I am as an artist today.

  1. House music continues to evolve rapidly. What trends are exciting you the most right now?

I’m really excited about the rise of Indie Dance and Disco House. You can hear more groove, emotion and personality finding their way back into dance music, and I really enjoy that evolution. At the same time, my own sound is evolving as well. While Latin house music will always be at the core of what I do, I’ve been experimenting with new influences and styles in the studio. Over the coming months, listeners can definitely expect to hear a broader and more mature sound in both my releases and What Da House Radio. I think it’s important to keep evolving as an artist while staying true to your own identity.

  1. If you could describe What Da House Radio in just three words, what would they be?

Monthly. House. Energetic.

  1. What’s next for you beyond the new radio show? Are there any upcoming releases, tours, or projects fans should look forward to?

There’s a lot happening this year. I have several new releases coming, including collaborations that I’m really excited about. We’re also continuing to grow the What Da House event edition during Amsterdam Dance Event. My goal is to keep building the brand step by step while continuing to release music that truly represents who I am as an artist.
