Charlotte de Witte needs little to no introduction and she is back with ‘Amor‘, out now via KNTXT. ‘Amor’ three-track EP featuring Brazilian artist CERES and it is the warmest, most personal thing she has released in years. The Belgian techno artist has spent fifteen years building one of the most formidable careers in electronic music. She has closed the Tomorrowland mainstage, sold out 23,000 capacity venue in her hometown of Ghent, and earned the title of world’s number one techno DJ six consecutive years running. She is the founder of KNTXT, her own label launched in 2019. Now, fresh off a debut album and a landmark free rave in Genova that drew 20,000 people, she returns to KNTXT with her latest EP.
The EP: Track by Track
‘Amor’ arrives as a richly connected three-tracker, each track featuring the breathy, full-toned vocals and Portuguese lyrics of Brazilian singer, DJ and producer CERES. Subtle motifs link all three tracks, giving the impression they form a suite rather than a collection. A deliberate choice that rewards the listener who plays them in sequence.
“This EP is inspired by my love for Portugal and Brazil, the country, the people, the food, the culture. Made with lots of amor,” said Charlotte de Witte.
Title track ‘Amor‘ opens with a galloping beat starred with spacey FX. A hoover siren builds tension as CERES begins her rhyming chant. Then a sprinkle of acid becomes a sulphuric tidal wave, de Witte’s signature move, executed with the precision. ‘Sem Ar‘ meaning ‘Airless‘ follows. Frantic rattling percussion overlays the fast beat into breakbeat-adjacent territory. CERES’ resonant voice takes centre stage in an acapella breakdown before it transforms into something sharp and penetrating: an acid robot’s voice, processed and propulsive.
‘O Movimento’ meaning ‘Movement’ or ‘Motion’ closes the EP. A speeding beat with hi-hat backbeat duels with CERES’ voice, now sounding almost breathless. Acid filters in as the track builds, and the momentum never lets go. The vinyl edition adds an Instrumental Mix of ‘O Movimento’ as an exclusive fourth track for those who want the production stripped back to its bones.
What Comes Next
‘Amor’ drops as de Witte continues to build out her 2026 touring schedule. This year she headlines Time Warp Brazil, EDC Las Vegas, We Love Green Paris, Kappa Futur Festival, Awakenings, Sónar, and has more street parties in the making. The world’s number one techno DJ is not slowing down — she is, if anything, just getting started.
