Damian Lazarus officially announces the full lineup for Day Zero Tulum 2026. The one-day music festival is set to take place on January 10, 2026 deep within the jungles of Quintana Roo. Now entering its 13th year, the one-night event remains one of the most distinctive fixtures in the global electronic calendar. One merging cutting-edge music, large-scale art, and ancient ritual into a single, immersive experience.
Founded in 2012, Day Zero has grown from a concept party into a full-fledged cultural movement. The festival’s ethos has always been rooted in balance between the past and future, the natural and technological, and the spiritual and hedonistic. Its location, hidden within the Mayan jungle outside Tulum, provides the perfect backdrop for Lazarus’ vision: a place where sound, art, and ceremony coexist under open skies until sunrise.
Conceived as a bridge between ancient tradition and modern dance culture, Day Zero remains one of the most talked-about events in the global festival circuit. An immersive collision of sound, spirituality, and spectacle curated by Crosstown Rebels founder Damian Lazarus.
The Lineup
This year’s lineup brings together a cross-section of boundary-pushing artists across the electronic spectrum. Global favorites Vintage Culture, Seth Troxler, Mau P, Acid Pauli, Maz, Nicola Cruz, and Traumer lead a diverse bill that balances underground depth with wide-reaching appeal.
The program also features Perel, Omri., Indo Warehouse, Silvie Loto, Cinthie, Jamiie, Jonathan Kaspar, Luch, Lilya Mandre, and Lum, alongside special live performances from Le Président (Live), Sidartha Siliceo Project (Live), Rigo Polar (Live), and Zombie Affair (Live).

Each performance is designed as part of a continuous narrative, soundtracking the journey from sunset to sunrise. It culminates with Lazarus’ signature dawn set, an annual highlight that defines the atmosphere and emotional peak of Day Zero.
El Teatro Stage: Spotlighting Mexico’s Underground
A central feature of Day Zero’s identity, the El Teatro stage returns as a dedicated platform for Mexico’s thriving electronic scene. Co-curated by Damian Lazarus and Metrika, the stage celebrates national talent and creativity while preserving the event’s deep connection to its host country.
For 2026, El Teatro welcomes Metrika (Live), Mental (Dramian & Rebolledo), Zombie Affair (Live), María Nocheydia, Puma, and Le Président (Live). They are artists who embody Mexico’s experimental, genre-bending spirit. The stage has become a cornerstone of Day Zero. It ensures that local voices remain at the forefront of an increasingly global festival.
Conscious Celebration: The Sustainability Program
Day Zero’s ethos extends far beyond music. Through its Crosstown Consciousness initiative, the festival integrates sustainability and community collaboration into every aspect of production. In partnership with local Mayan leaders and environmental organizations, it aims to protect the very land that hosts it.
Key initiatives include converting on-site plastic waste into reusable fuel via Petgas. Supporting SOS MARES, a UNESCO-endorsed coral restoration project, and funding educational and conservation programs in the surrounding region. Traditional Mayan ceremonies, sound healings, and ancestral blessings remain integral to the experience. They ensure each edition honours the land’s sacred history.
Expanding the Myth: Day Zero Brazil
For the first time, Day Zero expands beyond Mexico with its latest edition in São Miguel dos Milagres, Brazil, on January 3, 2026. The coastal event will reimagine Day Zero’s core concept within Brazil’s emerald jungles and turquoise shoreline. It promises to merge indigenous artistry with the same storytelling, production, and ritualistic elements that define its Tulum origin.
The twin 2026 editions, Brazil and Tulum, signal Lazarus’ mission to unite communities across continents. All done while maintaining a deep respect for local cultures and environments.
History and Evolution
Day Zero was born on December 21, 2012, the final day of the ancient Mayan Long Count calendar. This was certainly amid global speculation about the world’s “end.” A longtime Tulum resident and advocate for the region’s natural sanctity, Damian Lazarus envisioned a gathering that would mark renewal rather than destruction.
Set in a hidden jungle location, the first Day Zero combined underground electronic music with sacred Mayan ceremonies and visionary art. Over time, it grew into a cultural landmark.
Across 12 editions, Lazarus’ curation has hosted names like Four Tet, Black Coffee, and Solomun for Day Zero. He balances avant-garde experimentation with world-class production. The Day Zero 2024 10th anniversary brought a headline B2B between Solomun, Michael Bibi, and Lazarus, while 2025’s edition featured Fatboy Slim and Major League DJz. These performances made Day Zero’s evolution from a mythic concept into a global phenomenon.
