Don Diablo has shown once again why he’s known as one of the pioneers of future house music with the release of his latest single ‘Eyes Closed’, out now on his own HEXAGON imprint. The top-ranked Dutch DJ has also teased the release as part of a larger project that he is building towards, and we can expect more details to be out very soon.
The energetic single has been produced with the gradual return of live performances in mind making it a perfect fit for the festivals. Don Diablo has come a long way through his early days to get the recognition he deserves in the industry. His latest release is a testament to his evolution as an artist where we get to experience a new arc in his journey while also getting the signature sounds we all know him for.
The song opens with a dark and suspenseful tone preparing the listener for an epic feel. The drop features a rolling bassline under arpeggiated melodies with his signature groovy house beat that we first heard in some of his most popular tracks. He has shown us a new dynamic to his production with the ominous sound building up the tension into a euphoric piano. With the female vocals repeating the title, the production of the song is an excellent example of playing with energy as he builds up tension with darker elements, and gives the listener relief with the drop.
