EXIT, one of the world’s most influential music festivals, has revealed plans for a 2026 Global Tour under the banner “The First Chapter.” The organisers confirmed the festival will not return to its historic home at Petrovaradin Fortress next year. They cited political pressure from Serbian authorities over EXIT’s support for student protests.
Instead of retreating, EXIT is expanding its reach. The tour will bring its signature energy to Egypt, India, Malta, Croatia, Macedonia, and Serbia. Each stop aims to unite audiences across continents with a shared celebration of music and freedom.
A New Era for EXIT
Dušan Kovačević, EXIT’s CEO and Founder, called the move a defining moment. “After 25 years at the Petrovaradin Fortress, EXIT is now spreading its wings to the world. We aim to unite continents through our festivals and carry the spirit of freedom wherever we go. For us, music has always been more than entertainment. It’s a powerful force that brings people together and builds bridges between nations and cultures.”
EXIT unveiled the announcement in dramatic fashion. The team hosted its traditional Amsterdam Dance Event party 50 meters above the city, at the iconic Crane Faralda.
EXIT Global Tour: First Destinations Revealed for 2026
Kicking off in May, the tour begins in Croatia, where the Sea Star Festival returns to the Stella Maris lagoon in Umag, Istria. Over the years, the festival has welcomed acts such as The Prodigy, Wu‑Tang Clan, Paul Kalkbrenner, and Amelie Lens. The 2026 edition promises to be its strongest yet.
In June, EXIT heads to Macedonia. August brings a summer takeover in Malta, in collaboration with G7 Events, one of the island’s leading promoters. October marks a historic moment in Egypt. EXIT will stage performances against the backdrop of the Great Pyramids of Giza. Partnering with Venture Lifestyle, the festival will merge contemporary electronic music with one of the world’s most iconic landmarks. Finally, November sees EXIT arrive in Mumbai, marking its debut in India’s entertainment capital. The tour then returns to Belgrade. In Serbia, the beloved No Sleep Festival will expand into one of Europe’s largest raves, continuing EXIT’s legacy of underground electronic culture.
With “The First Chapter,” EXIT positions itself as a truly global festival brand. The team will announce more destinations and details of the 2026 program in the coming weeks. One thing is clear: EXIT’s mission to unite people through music is stronger than ever.
