Marshmello On Forbes’ 30 under 30 For The Music Industry 2018

This year’s been a great one for Marshmello. Releasing hit after hit like Alone, Silence, Wolves and a massive tour of more than 170 shows in 12 months, he’s basically everywhere. This omnipresence raises polarizing opinions about him, Deadmau5 publicly opposes his style of music while others enjoy listening to and raving to it at festivals all around the world.

Marshmello’s latest achievement is landing on Forbes’ 30 under 30 for the music industry 2018.

The independent, anonymous DJ-producer may perform behind a white marshmallow mask, but he has still notched some 2 billion streams. Born Chris Comstock, Marshmello is one of the world’s highest-paid DJs thanks to more than 170 live shows in 12 months and a bigger take-home on music and merch than other DJs. – Forbes.com

The magazine at the same time, officially revealed his real identity, which was a matter of high discussion among the EDM scene fans. Although it wasn’t a well-kept secret and many correctly revealed that Marshmello is Dotcom, the lack of an official confirmation allowed everyone to deny that and come forward expressing their guesses for who the man behind the mask is.

Chris Comstock was mainly known as Dotcom, prior to his Marshmello alias.
