New ULTRA Warehouse Derby Opens with 3,500-Capacity NYE Launch

The Midlands gains a powerful new home for underground electronic music as Forbidden Forest launches We Are WHSE on New Year’s Eve.

ULTRA Warehouse Derby will open its doors on New Year’s Eve with the launch of We Are WHSE, a new flagship event series from the team behind Forbidden Forest. The 3,500-capacity venue is set to transform Derby into a destination for large-scale underground electronic music.

ULTRA Warehouse: A new industrial haven

Derby has long needed a dedicated underground space. Now, ULTRA delivers with a purpose-built warehouse designed for electronic events at scale. The venue’s exposed steel beams, corrugated walls, and stripped-back layout channel the raw energy of early rave culture. At the same time, state-of-the-art lighting, sound, and production ensure a modern, immersive experience.

The result is a venue that feels both authentic and forward-thinking. A proper hideout for those ready to lose themselves in the music.

We Are WHSE: A flagship launch

On New Year’s Eve, ULTRA will come alive with the debut of We Are WHSE, a new event series curated by the Forbidden Forest team. The launch party features a stacked lineup of UK talent, including Max Dean, Luke Dean, Gaskin, DXNBY, and more.

The organisers describe the series as a response to demand in the region. “Derby has been crying out for an event series like this. We wanted to build something that feels real and rooted in the underground with the production and quality you’d expect from the Forbidden Forest team. We Are WHSE is exactly that.”

Beyond a one-off

We Are WHSE is not just a launch party. It marks the start of a full 2026 event series that will bring house, drum & bass, and other cutting-edge sounds to Derby. Moreover, regular shows will feature some of the most exciting names in electronic music, solidifying ULTRA’s place as a key player in the UK scene.

For fans, it means no more long treks to Nottingham or Birmingham for top-tier events. Instead, ULTRA Warehouse Derby will host its own large-scale underground gatherings, powered by one of the UK’s renowned festival teams.
