The hype around NFTs doesn’t seem to fade away too soon, with the Non-fungible tokens getting more and more traction, and perhaps they will become a part of every industry out there in the world as “only the tip of the iceberg was touched, so far” as the crypto-twitter boast. One electronic dance music artist that’s also getting into this trend is Steve Aoki, and he just broke an important record with his NFT sale.
Last week he announced that he is going to auction his own art, which consists of 11 pieces titled ‘DREAM CATCHER’ for the creation of which he collaborated with world-class 3D illustrator Antoni Tudisco. The collection was put for sale a few days ago on the platform Nifty Gateway. One of the pieces of the collection titled ‘Hairy’ has made a record-breaking sale of $888,888.88 as stated by Nifty Gateway via Twitter, breaking the site’s record auction sale for an NFT up to now.

The future looks bright for the artists in the EDM industry as they look to other places to monetize their art and they seem to enjoy doing it through releasing NFTs on the blockchain. We are looking forward to seeing what else these artists surprise us with and hopefully, artists which are not that well-known could benefit from this hype and monetize their art, as well.
