Tamta Talks About Die Arkitekt’s Remix of ‘KHORUMI’ and Her Future Plans

Hey Tamta! We’re glad to have you here to talk about your latest remix of ‘KHORUMI’ by Die Arkitekt.

Thank you so much for having me! Working with Die Arkitekt is always a joy. We share a long-standing friendship that goes way back, and every time we connect musically, it feels truly special. There’s a natural understanding between us that makes the creative process both smooth and inspiring.

Can you tell us more about ‘KHORUMI’? How did it come to life and when?

‘KHORUMI’ was created during a songwriting camp where the “Identity Crisis” team came together to work on my two upcoming EPs. We spent a week in a really inspiring environment and ended up writing over 50 songs. From the very beginning, ‘KHORUMI’ stood out as something special. It draws inspiration from the traditional Georgian war dance of the same name — a powerful symbol of strength and unity. It’s part of the EP “The Villain,” and the visuals were brought to life under the direction of Alexander Stamatiadis. ‘KHORUMI’ was produced by TEO.x3, the music was composed by TEO.x3, Anastasios Tsordas, with lyrics written by ODY ICON, Anastasios Tsordas, and myself. The sound blends pop, techno, and electronic influences while incorporating the traditional Georgian drum, the doli.

What sets ‘KHORUMI’ apart from your previous work, and why should listeners tune in?

This song is a musical journey that reflects resilience, freedom, and togetherness — a story of striving for a better tomorrow, fighting for it, and ultimately celebrating victory. It truly expresses who I am, blending the traditions of the country that raised me with modern influences.

Can you tell us more about your show on May 2nd in the UK?

I’ll be presenting my latest musical projects — “Identity Crisis” and my two recent EPs, “The Villain” and “The Heroine.” The artistic direction of the show is by Bill Roxenos, and I’m beyond excited to finally share this with the London audience. It means a lot to connect with people there through this new chapter of my music. I’ll also be revisiting some of my older songs that the Greek audience loves. Overall, the live show will be both visual and entertaining.

Who is Tamta and why music? At what age did you get into music and how?

Tamta is a multifaceted person and artist. Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started singing at a very young age. One day, my teacher noticed my voice and mentioned it to my mother, who then enrolled me in every musical activity available in our local community. By the time I was six, I had joined a children’s music group called “Nergebi.” We even performed at a children’s festival in Warrington in the early ’90s, which was my first trip abroad. Those early experiences shaped my love for music and eventually led me to my professional journey in Greece.

Do you remember the name of the first song that made you love music?

Honestly, it’s hard to recall the first song that made me realize my talent. However, I do remember the first song I performed on stage at the age of six; it was about the relationship between a child and their father.

Who or what has been your biggest inspiration throughout your music journey?

If I had to single someone out, it would definitely be Michael Jackson, who has been a huge artistic inspiration for me. I’ve admired him since I was young. All of this was the beginning of my love and inspiration for music. From there on, I never stop exploring new sounds and artists, who also become sources of inspiration for me. Generally, I’ve listened to and studied a wide variety of music genres, from classical to electronic. Growing up in the ’90s had a significant impact on me, especially with various artists from that era.

Can you tell us more about your dream collaborations and what you hope to achieve in the next two years in your professional career?

I have always been open to collaborations. Nowadays, the music industry is experiencing new and exciting dynamics. We see and hear many artists from all over the world, and it would be difficult for me to name just a few. Generally, artists are now more open to collaborations, and I love hearing them unite from different places and in different languages. I already have a collaboration that I can’t reveal just yet, set to release in early June, and I hope this will open doors for more interesting collaborations globally.

This is all for now. Thank you for your time answering our questions. Where can our community find out more about your music and future releases?

Thank you very much! People can find and listen to my music on all digital platforms, as well as on my social media like Instagram and TikTok. They can also visit my official website at www.tamta.gr.
