Wave Wave on Signing to Diynamic Music, Playing Pacha Ibiza & Building the Waterized Vision

Rapidly rising through the ranks, DJ and producer Wave Wave has built a reputation for a sound that balances underground swagger with emotional depth. Recently named among the 1001Tracklists Future of Dance, the producer has also caught the attention of tastemakers including Solomun and his revered Diynamic Music.

With his debut EP Feel The Pressure and an evolving live and studio vision, Wave Wave continues to sharpen a sound rooted in groove, tension, and emotional release. We sat down with him to discuss his rapid ascent, the making of the EP, and his upcoming trip for Miami Music Week.

In a scene that’s constantly evolving, you’ve emerged as one of its most talked-about rising names, recently crowned 1001Tracklists Future of Dance 2025. How did you get here, and when did it feel like people were starting to notice your vision on an international level?

Being named 1001Tracklists Future of Dance 2025 honestly came as a surprise to me, especially because I only really found my own sound about a years ago. Everything has moved so quickly since then. I’ve always approached this journey as a long-term commitment built on late nights in the studio, obsessive attention to detail, and a genuine dedication to shaping a sound that feels authentic to me rather than chasing trends. When I first started the project, I was still searching for myself. I didn’t truly know who I was musically. Over the past two years, that process has helped me discover my identity, and I think that authenticity was the turning point when people began to really notice what I was doing. What’s exciting is that it still feels like the beginning. The scene evolves quickly, but authenticity always cuts through. For me, it’s about continuing to build something meaningful and lasting pushing the sound forward while staying grounded in why I started in the first place: creating a genuine connection between music and people in a shared moment.

Do you see Wave Wave as a reflection of yourself, or is the project more of a creative persona?

Wave Wave is 100% a reflection of who I am as an artist and as a person. Alongside this project, I also produce music for other artists, and in those situations there’s often a clear direction or brief to follow. I genuinely enjoy that process stepping into someone else’s vision, understanding their identity, and helping them shape their sound. It’s creatively challenging in a different way, and I value that collaboration a lot. But with Wave Wave, it was essential for me to create without boundaries. This project gives me the freedom to fully express what I’m feeling in the moment. If it’s late at night and I’m alone in the studio, I might feel drawn to produce something heavier and more uplifting tracks that carry intensity. On the other hand, when the sun is shining and the energy feels lighter, I might create something more melodic and positive, something that lifts your mood. I need all of these different facets, because they’re all part of me. They also play an important role in my DJ sets I want to be able to move between emotions, from powerful and driving to melodic and euphoric. That dynamic range is what makes a set feel alive. So yes, Wave Wave is truly a reflection of myself.

You caught the attention of Solomun last summer, signing to his Diynamic Music label, that must have been a huge moment? Tell how this came about and how does it feel to have his support?

Oh yes, that was an incredibly special moment for me. Solomun has been a huge inspiration for several years. I’ve watched all of his sets on YouTube, his older sets on Soundcloud and I’ve always loved his Solomun +1 at Pacha Ibiza nights they had such a strong atmosphere. “The Groover” was actually the first tracks I ever sent to him. I had a feeling it could fit his sound and energy, so I took the chance and shared it. Then… nothing happened for months. At some point, I just assumed he probably didn’t connect with it, and I moved on mentally. And then one day, we received an email from his team saying that he wanted to play „The Groover“ during his set at the Sphere in Las Vegas. I honestly couldn’t believe it.

Walk us through your debut EP Feel The Pressure. How do the soundscapes of each track differ?

The Feel The Pressure EP is, as the title suggests, definitely more of a peak-time release designed for my sets. Both tracks are built with maximum dancefloor impact in mind, but they each bring a slightly different kind of energy. The first record, “Feel The Pressure,” is a collaboration with FRANCO BA. What I love about the final result is the balance we achieved it has a strong, tension-driven build-up, but at the same time it carries a groove-led, slow-burning intensity. “Back It Up” is the true peak moment of the EP and also of my sets. I rarely go harder than this track when I’m playing. It’s powerful and direct. For me, these two tracks naturally belong together. They complement each other perfectly and tell a cohesive story within the EP and within my sets.

On title track ‘Feel The Pressure’ you collaborate with Franco Ba, how did you come to work together? And how do your individual styles blend on the final track we hear now?

FRANCO BA is a fantastic producer and DJ. I had really been enjoying his recent releases, which is why we decided to start exchanging ideas back and forth. From the beginning, it felt like we spoke the same musical language. We both wanted to create something that builds tension throughout the track, but without making it too hard or aggressive so you don’t lose the groove and rhythm on the dancefloor. Finding that balance between intensity and flow was very important to us. That contrast was exactly what we aimed to capture. We both tested the track many times in our sets, and interestingly, we always came back with the same thoughts about what needed to be adjusted to take it to the next level. Being so aligned creatively made the process very natural helped us turn it into this record.

Is there a particular venue, festival, or city that feels like home for your sound and why?

I recently played at FOMO in Baku and absolutely loved both the club and the crowd. I played very intuitively that night just following what I felt in the moment and the audience trusted every direction I took. That said, my favorite club I’ve played so far is definitely Pacha Ibiza. The venue has a unique intimacy that makes it easy to connect quickly with the people on the dancefloor. There’s something special about the energy in that room. Ibiza really feels like home to me soundwise. At the same time, I truly love playing in the US. Doing a US tour last year was a full-circle moment. I’d definitely love to continue building a fanbase in the US market and play there more often in the future.

We loved your first Waterized Session set on YouTube in the abandoned Victorian baths. Why this location? What’s the vision for this project moving forward?

Love to hear that! I really put my heart into this set, and it was only the beginning of a new series. I plan to release live sets as often as possible, each recorded in locations with a water influence. For these sets, I’m most of the time showcasing new music from myself. But In the future, I’d also love to include tracks from smaller artists I truly believe in and support. It’s important to me that this series also becomes a platform to highlight fresh talent and music I genuinely love.

What’s the last track you added to your USB?

Victor Ruiz – Time

We hear you’re headed to the ‘Magic City’ in a few weeks for annual industry gathering Miami Music Week! Have you been before? What are you most looking forward to?

Yes been there the last 3 years and Í always love it. When you live in Germany it’s  great after the long winter to finally feel sunshine again haha. For this year I’m very excited to connect, see friends, maybe play some shows and party.

Looking ahead, where do you hope to see the Wave Wave name in five years time? What goals have you ticked off and what does your day-to-day life look like?

In five years, I see myself playing headline shows around the world, Waterized branded, continuing to grow internationally. And I love to play more back-to-back shows with other artists. More than anything, I want to keep refining and defining my sound so that people come to my shows specifically to hear my music. Ideally, my day-to-day life would be a balance between performing and creating. Weekends would be dedicated to playing shows, connecting with crowds, and testing new ideas on the dancefloor. Then during the week, I’d be back in the studio, producing new records. Maybe I’ll be launching my own record label? Releasing the music I love to create and supporting new talent and building a community around a shared sound is something that feels very important to me for the next chapter of my journey.
