Kick & Bass Records Launches as a New Artist‑Development Powerhouse

The producer community founded by Westend expands into a full label ecosystem with its first release arriving December 12.

Kick & Bass, the fast‑growing global producer community created by DJ/producer Westend and partner Freddy Trier Christensen, has officially launched Kick & Bass Records, a new label built directly from its educational ecosystem. The platform, which began as a pandemic teaching experiment, now supports more than 600 emerging producers. With the label’s debut single arriving December 12, Kick & Bass is transforming from a learning hub into a complete artist‑development powerhouse.

Kick & Bass: A Community‑Driven Label Built for Modern Producers

Kick & Bass started during lockdown, when Westend began offering one‑on‑one production lessons. His passion for teaching quickly grew into a Discord‑based community in 2021. Producers gained access to tutorials, real‑time feedback, and coaching from industry professionals. As members developed their skills, many began earning millions of streams and selling out club nights. However, one question kept surfacing: where should they release their music?

The record label was created to answer that need. Unlike traditional labels, it operates as a natural extension of the community. Producers can learn, improve, build their brand, and eventually release music within the same ecosystem. Westend describes the model as a “360° cycle” that supports artists from their first tutorial to their first official release. He emphasizes that no other label combines education, mentorship, community, and distribution in this way.

The label launches with strong industry backing. CIRCA, a respected independent marketing agency, will provide distribution and tailored promotional support in collaboration with co‑brand. The team plans to release monthly singles while maintaining flexibility across subgenres. Although rooted in Tech House and U.S.‑focused club music, the label will also welcome minimal grooves and more commercial‑leaning house, as long as the sound reflects the community’s identity.

Debut Releases and a Built‑In Support System

The first release comes from ALP, a Tech House alias of an artist previously active in techno. His new single “Raw” arrives December 12 and sets the tone for the label’s club‑ready direction. Future releases include tracks from June Wilder and Gotch, both already well‑supported within the community. Westend recently tested Wilder’s upcoming track during a live set and confirmed its strong crowd reaction.

One of the label’s most distinctive strengths is its built‑in support network. Because the community is already tight‑knit, each release benefits from collective momentum. Members push pre‑saves, amplify tracks on social media, and support releases across DSPs and Beatport. Westend notes that artists do not need a large profile to succeed because the community lifts each other up.

For Westend, Kick & Bass Records completes a multi‑year vision. The platform now offers everything from tutorials and coaching to collaboration and distribution. With its new label, Kick & Bass provides a full pathway for rising producers to learn, grow, and release music within one unified ecosystem. Fans and aspiring artists alike will find plenty to celebrate as the community enters this next chapter.
