FNGRS CRSSD and Lane 8 have announced FNGRS CRSSD x Cross Pollination. A one-day event taking place on August 9th at Waterfront Park in San Diego. The concept draws directly from Lane 8’s This Never Happened universe. Built entirely around back-to-back sets, with every artist on the line-up performing alongside a partner rather than doing a solo set. It is a format that puts collaboration at the centre of the experience rather than treating it as a novelty. Pairing names whose creative relationships run well beneath the surface of a simple double billing.
The Lineup
Lane 8 headlines alongside Sultan + Shepard. The two longtime collaborators of This Never Happened whose combined catalogue of emotionally driven melodic house runs deep. Lane 8 B2B Sultan + Shepard have already performed together at The Mission Ballroom in Denver as part of the This Never Happened anniversary run earlier this year. This gives the fans in San Diego a chance to experience what that other show delivered.
Yotto B2B Kasbo follows. A pairing that brings together Yotto’s hypnotic progressive sensibility with Kasbo’s deeply emotive production instincts. Both artists have released music on This Never Happened. Kasbo also appears on upcoming album Cross Pollination II by Lane 8, due June 12th via This Never Happened.
Massane B2B Qrion are set to deliver an atmospheric, emotionally rooted storytelling. Massane, who also appears on Cross Pollination II, alongside Qrion, whose cinematic approach to melodic house has made her one of the scene’s most distinctive voices. Ashibah B2B Grigoré close the bill, bringing dark textures and cinematic club sound to Waterfront Park. Ashibah is set to release her debut album Human on This Never Happened, and Grigoré also appears on Cross Pollination II, making both artists central in Lane 8’s current creative world.
It is worth noting how much overlap exists between the This Never Happened and Anjunadeep rosters. Yotto, Kasbo and Qrion have all released music on Anjuna imprints at various points in their careers.
This Never Happened Turns Ten
The timing of FNGRS CRSSD x Cross Pollination is perhaps pre-planned. 2026 marks ten years of This Never Happened as a record label and live event concept. Lane 8, Denver-based DJ and producer Daniel Goldstein, launched the label and its phone-free event philosophy in 2016. Together they’re building one of electronic music’s most connected global communities around shared presence and deeply intentional live experiences. Cross Pollination reflects that same ethos: collaboration and connection as the foundation.
Cross Pollination II, the follow-up to Lane 8’s 2020 collaborative album of the same name, arrives June 12th with 14 tracks featuring Sultan + Shepard, Kasbo, Massane, Grigoré, Rae Morris, Davey Havok, Gui Boratto and more. The San Diego event on August 9th lands two months after the album.
Tickets and Venue
The event runs from 3:00PM to 10:00PM at Waterfront Park in San Diego, set against sweeping views of the bayfront, harbour and downtown skyline. FNGRS CRSSD, producers of San Diego’s renowned CRSSD Festival have made Waterfront Park a premier destination for outdoor electronic music in Southern California, and the coastal setting suits the Cross Pollination aesthetic precisely.
