MARQUS & ADD9 on Creating ‘Feel The Rhythm’: Inspiration, Collaboration & Behind-the-Scenes

Hi MARQUS and ADD9! Great to have you here — excited to ask you a few questions about your latest collaboration, ‘Feel The Rhythm’.

MARQUS: Thank you, it’s great to be here. Feel The Rhythm felt like one of those rare alignments where energy, instinct, and timing all collided. From the first sketch, We knew this track carried a pulse meant for the dancefloor, but also something deeper, something that moves people beyond the surface.
ADD9: Hi! Super excited to be here, wanted to thank you for the opportunity and bring on the questions!

We really like the vibe of the song! Can you tell us how ‘Feel The Rhythm’ was born and how you two met to create it?

MARQUS: The collaboration came very naturally. ADD9 reached out after hearing my Finally remix, they felt the frequency behind it, and I could instantly tell their sound design and melodic sense aligned perfectly with my world. When they sent over the initial vocal, We built a new foundation around it, something more primal, more physical, and we went back and forth, sculpting the final version until it truly moved.
ADD9: So we actually reached out to MARQUS after we randomly ran into a remix of his to Finally of Swedish House Mafia, we thought it was great and played it at our show that was next week. We liked the whole vibe and decided to do a collaboration, worked this one out, recorded a vocal, had a few versions going back and forth and got to this final version. We reached out to Hysteria and they immediately liked this one, and now we’re here.

What sets ‘Feel The Rhythm’ apart from your previous work, and why is it so special to you?

MARQUS: This one bridges worlds, it has the pulse of the underground and the clarity of something made for the main stage. For me, it represents the evolution of club energy, forward-thinking but rooted in feeling. It’s not just a track, it’s a reminder of why we fell in love with dance music in the first place.
ADD9: Feel The Rhythm is very different from our music, most of the time we do more melodic tracks but MARQUS’s energy on his production caught our ear very quickly, we couldn’t ignore it. It sends the listeners to a different side of us.

What was the most exciting part of the song to work on, and which part are you most proud of?

MARQUS: The drop. It’s the moment everything converges, the tension, the vocal, the groove. I spent a lot of time balancing the raw power with space, so the energy feels alive rather than overproduced. When the drop hits, it’s meant to reset the entire room.
ADD9: The most exciting part was definitely the Tech House energy that we aren’t used to, the bass element and groove was a new energy for us.

MARQUS: Leave The World Behind, it’s timeless. Every element in that track feels essential, not decorative. It carries a frequency that still resonates today, the perfect mix of euphoria, emotion, and purpose.
ADD9: We are the type of classic EDM, we grew up in the golden era of the 2010s so are all-time favorite track is probably Language by Porter Robinson

Who is your biggest source of inspiration, and which artist do you like the most and would love to collaborate with in the future?

MARQUS: Swedish House Mafia, without question. But not just for the music. For the way they redefined what an era could sound like. I’m drawn to artists who shift collective emotion, who create movements rather than moments. Collaborating with them would be both creative and spiritual.
ADD9: Our biggest inspiration is easily the Swedish House Mafia, they are so diverse and innovative, we are hoping we could make music together and learn from these legends.

2025 is almost over — only two months left! Can you tell us what we can expect from you in 2026?

MARQUS: 2026 will be about evolution, deeper frequencies, bolder sound design, and more collaborations that bridge emotion with energy. I want every release to feel like a chapter in a larger story, something that builds toward a greater awakening in sound.
ADD9: The music from us in 2025 isn’t over, a lot of surprises are coming soon and more of ADD9 is ready for coming out.

MARQUS: Summer, always. There’s something magnetic about the energy when light and sound collide. Festivals, connection, collective emotion, it’s where music lives in its purest form.
ADD9: It’s summer all the way, so sad it’s over. The vibes in the summer are so different, crazy energy all the way.
