Vancouver’s underground nightlife takes the stage on October 3rd with the return of Waves of Illusion II. Curated by Kiarash Tk, the event series showcases local DJs and collectives while blending sound, visuals, and community. Hosted at the Harbour Event & Convention Centre, the event presents 14 DJs and 11 music collectives.
The debut Waves of Illusion set a foundation for immersive production and collaboration between artists. This second edition builds on that approach with larger visuals, multi-sensory installations, and deeper community focus. The lineup features 1ZERO, ARIA, Cameron St Denis, Garfield Discoteque, Graf, Harold, Jordan Gill, Kam, Ketafere, Pitz, Raangel, Skla, Ohryan, Tariki, and Trevethan. “Waves of Illusion is about more than just music,” says Kiarash. “It’s about creating a space where artists, performers, and the community can come together to experience something immersive and unique to Vancouver.”
The series aims to give Vancouver’s underground community consistent visibility while encouraging collaboration between artists, collectives, and audiences who share a passion for electronic music, immersive visuals, and cultural experimentation.
Kiarash Tk’s Vision for Vancouver Nightlife
Kiarash combines his role as Marketing Director with a creative background in design and large-scale cultural production. Since 2022, he has produced over 300 events. This includes Vancouver’s first drone show and the city’s largest public gathering, attracting 40,000 attendees downtown. He has designed for London Fashion Week, created couture for the Cannes Film Festival, and curated Vancouver’s first NFT art gallery. His fine art showcases have placed him alongside icons such as Picasso, Dali, Chagall, and Warhol.
With Waves of Illusion II, Kiarash draws from this broad portfolio to spotlight underground electronic talent. The event connects music with technology, art, and community in one collaborative format. On October 3rd, Harbour Event & Convention Centre becomes the platform where Vancouver’s underground artists gather to create something distinctly their own.
