BOOTHED Talks Artistic Growth, Viral Momentum And Building A Modern House Music Brand

With millions of streams across DSPs, viral traction across social media platforms, and releases on labels including Protocol Recordings, HEXAGON, Spinnin’ Records, Box of Cats and Another Rhythm, BOOTHED has steadily evolved into one of the more exciting crossover names emerging from the modern house and tech house scene.

Blending disco and funk influences with club-focused electronic production, the project has built an international audience through a combination of strong musical identity, editorial playlist support, DJ backing and consistent digital growth. From collaborations connected to HEXAGON Radio alongside Don Diablo to the official rework of Kool & The Gang’s iconic “Get Down On It,” BOOTHED continues to position itself between underground credibility and wider global appeal.

In this interview, we speak about the artistic evolution behind the project, the realities of building an international electronic music profile in today’s industry, and the balance between creativity, streaming culture and long-term vision.

  1. Over the past years, BOOTHED has grown from a DJ-focused project into a more structured artist and production identity. What do you feel has been the biggest turning point in that evolution?

I think the biggest turning point was when the music started connecting beyond local club environments and began reaching international audiences through releases, streaming platforms and DJ support. At the beginning, the project was much more focused around DJ culture and performance, but over time production became the real centre of the identity. Seeing releases receive support from labels, editorial playlists and established artists helped me realise the project was evolving into something much more structured professionally.

  1. Your sound blends disco and funk influences with modern house and tech house production. How did that musical direction develop naturally for you?

A lot of it comes from the music I grew up listening to. Disco, funk and older dance music always had a strong influence on me because of the groove, musicality and energy behind those records. At the same time, I’ve always been connected to modern electronic music and club culture, so over the years those influences naturally blended together into the sound I’m developing now. I like creating music that still feels energetic for clubs whilst keeping a strong musical identity behind it.

  1. With more than 24 million streams and strong social media growth, how do you balance creating music for the club while still connecting with wider audiences online?

For me, the most important thing is making records that feel authentic first. I never really start a track thinking about social media trends or algorithms. Ironically, I think some of the strongest online growth actually happens when the music genuinely connects with people in clubs, festivals or live environments first. Platforms like TikTok and Shorts can amplify that energy massively, but I still try to keep the focus on creating records that work naturally within electronic music culture.

  1. You’ve released music through labels such as Protocol Recordings, HEXAGON, Spinnin’ Records, Box of Cats and Another Rhythm. How important have those label partnerships been in building the BOOTHED brand internationally?

They’ve definitely played an important role in helping the project grow professionally and reach wider audiences internationally. Every label has its own identity, network and audience, so working with different teams helped expose the music to different parts of the electronic music scene over time. Beyond visibility, I think those collaborations also helped me better understand the industry side of electronic music and how to build a more sustainable long-term project.

  1. The project has also seen major traction across TikTok, YouTube Shorts and social platforms, with over 80 million combined views. How do you view the role of short-form content in electronic music today?

I think short-form content has become a very powerful tool for music discovery, especially within dance music. A lot of people now discover tracks through videos before hearing them in traditional ways. At the same time, I still believe the music itself has to hold value beyond the viral moment. Social platforms can help accelerate exposure massively, but long-term growth still depends on building a genuine connection with audiences through the music and the overall project identity.

  1. You recently collaborated with Don Diablo through HEXAGON Radio. How valuable are relationships and networking within the electronic music industry for long-term growth?

I think relationships are extremely important, but they have to happen naturally. Electronic music is a very community-driven industry, and over time genuine connections with labels, artists, DJs and professionals can open opportunities that would never happen otherwise. At the same time, I think consistency and professionalism matter just as much as networking itself. Long-term growth usually comes from building trust and maintaining strong working relationships over time.

  1. Beyond streaming numbers and chart placements, what would you say defines success for BOOTHED at this stage of the journey?

For me, success is more about sustainability and artistic growth than just numbers alone. Of course, chart placements, streams and audience growth are important indicators, but I think the real goal is building something with long-term value and identity. Seeing the music continue to grow across different countries, clubs and audiences whilst still evolving creatively is probably the most rewarding part for me right now.

  1. What’s the one activity you love doing in your free time when not making music?

Honestly, I still spend a lot of my free time around music in some way, even outside the studio. But when I disconnect, I really enjoy travelling, spending time with friends and experiencing different cities and cultures. I think that also influences the music indirectly because electronic music is so connected to atmosphere, environments and human energy.

  1. Can you tell us more about your dream and future collaboration and what do you hope to achieve in the next 3 years in your professional career?

There are definitely many artists and producers I would love to collaborate with in the future, especially people who have strong musical identity and long-term influence within electronic music. Over the next years, my main focus is continuing to grow the BOOTHED project internationally through releases, live performances and stronger positioning within the house and tech-house space. I’d also love to keep developing the crossover side of the project whilst still maintaining credibility within club-focused electronic music environments.

  1. This is all for now. Thank you for your time answering our questions. Where can our community find out more about your music and your future releases?

Thank you very much for having me.
